Boulder Retaining wall Pt. 2

In building the retaining wall, we wanted to keep it a natural look as if was a part of the yard rather than having it look man made.  To do this, we choose native sandstone boulders as the main building rocks, chopped/cobbler stones as fillers for the smaller holes, and Navajo flagstone for the steps.

When the rock was delivered, the day was very cold.  But like any other job, you learn to work through the difficulties.  The cold reminded me of the temperatures the ice road truckers face, but without the danger of falling through ice.

It was a cold, cold day.
